Every performance has a life before opening night: auditions, early rehearsals, creative conversations and the practical work of bringing a team together. West End Central provides a London base for that part of the process.

Founded by Solange Urdang OBE and Thomas Hopkins, the rehearsal and production hub brings seven studios together with supporting facilities in Angel. For visitors discovering it through Urdang International, the connection is through Solange and a shared commitment to the performing arts—from developing talent to creating professional work.

A creative connection through Solange Urdang

Solange’s work spans performing arts education and the professional industry. West End Central brings another dimension to that work: space for the people preparing productions, running auditions and developing ideas in the rehearsal room.

She co-founded the business with producer Thomas Hopkins. Together, they have shaped a venue aimed at theatre makers, production companies, casting teams, directors, choreographers and media teams.

You can meet West End Central’s directors on its website. To explore Solange’s production work within Urdang International, visit SU Productions.

Seven studios in Angel, London

West End Central is based at 259–263 Goswell Road, London EC1V 7AH, moments from Angel Underground Station. Its seven studios offer room for rehearsals, casting and creative development, with daily, weekly and exclusive hire options.

The right room depends on the work you are planning. An audition, a movement rehearsal and a longer production period can have different requirements, so the team can discuss dates, space and setup before arrangements are confirmed.

The studio hire pages provide photographs, floor plans and current hire information. Check those pages and speak directly with the venue about the space that suits your production.

Support beyond the rehearsal room

Alongside the studios, the venue lists production offices, wardrobe facilities, storage, a kitchen and a loading bay. These supporting spaces can matter just as much as the rehearsal floor when a creative team is preparing a show.

Facilities and access arrangements should be discussed with West End Central as part of your enquiry. This introduction is not a promise that every facility is included with every booking.

Planning your next creative project

Whether you have discovered Urdang through training, GPAA Events or professional production, West End Central offers a useful connection when you need rehearsal or production space in London.

To take the next step, share your preferred dates and requirements with the venue. The West End Central team handles hire enquiries, confirms availability and discusses booking arrangements directly.
