Across Dance, Song & Dance and Musical Theatre, every performer stepped onto the stage with courage, commitment and passion — making this year’s competition a proud moment for the entire GPAA community.
A Celebration of the GPAA Community
Every performer brought something unique to the stage.
From first-time competitors to experienced performers, GPAA 2026 showcased confidence, discipline, creativity and ambition across every section. The standard was exceptional, but what stood out most was the atmosphere — studios supporting one another, families cheering from the audience and young performers rising to the moment.
This was a weekend shaped by hard work, patience and passion.

Behind every successful event is a huge amount of planning, coordination and adaptability.
GPAA 2026 came with its own challenges, but the commitment shown by performers, teachers, parents, studios, judges and the wider team helped create a competition that felt positive, professional and full of heart.

What Is the GPAA Competition?
The GPAA Competition is the UAE’s leading Musical Theatre and Dance event, founded by Solange Urdang OBE to bring the professionalism, energy, and inclusivity of London’s performing arts scene to the Middle East.
The competition provides an authentic performance platform that celebrates diversity, creativity, and skill — inspiring young artists to dream big and perform even bigger.
Every year, the stage welcomes hundreds of students from schools and academies across the region, competing in a variety of styles including:
Musical Theatre Performance
Ballet and Contemporary Dance
Jazz and Commercial
Acting Through Song
Each performance is assessed by a panel of international judges, including West End professionals and choreographers, who provide constructive feedback to help students grow in both confidence and technique.
