The Urdang International Syllabus has been developed following years of successfully training students to be employed in the industry.

Urdang has recognised the need for an innovative and modern progression for aspiring performers and has created a progressive grade structure following industry and educational consultation. Each step of their syllabi are at the appropriate pace and level for candidates, encourage safe practice, promotes in-depth study and understanding and gives candidates the freedom of independent study and opportunity to express their individual performance style

This exciting new syllabus presents a fantastic opportunity for teachers and dance schools to be able to offer Musical Theatre to their students, extend the range of classes in their schools, and create new revenue streams.

 

Musical Theatre Syllabus

The first Urdang International Syllabus is focused on Musical Theatre, it aims to

  • To promote awareness of the qualities required for musical theatre
  • To encourage the good quality and thoughtful delivery of the syllabus to candidates
  • To offer a safe and progressive pathway for candidates to acquire the skills and standard to become a triple threat performer
  • To lead a candidate through a systematic training to be competitive to audition for Professional Musical Theatre training or employment
  • To inspire intellectual thinking and a deeper understanding of materials required for musical theatre
  • To combine the core elements of musical theatre into an integrated performance
  • To learn and progressively improve technical skills in voice, dance and acting
  • To convey the intention of musical theatre material in a performance
  • To be able to respond to the examiner questions regarding the intention and context of the material

Who is the Musical Theatre Syllabus for?

The Urdang International Syllabus – Musical Theatre is aimed at Children aged 5 to 16+ who wish to develop their skills and ability in the performing arts.

Street/Commercial Dance Syllabus

Urdang International has also developed a ground breaking syllabus focused on Street/Commercial Dance, it aims to:-

  • To promote awareness of the qualities required for Street/Commercial Dance
  • To encourage the good quality and thoughtful delivery of the syllabus to candidates
  • To offer a safe and progressive pathway for candidates to acquire the skills and standard to become a strong commercial dancer
  • To lead a candidate through a systematic training to be competitive to audition for commercial dance opportunities
  • To learn and progressively improve technical skills in this dance genre
  • To be able to respond to the examiner questions during an assessment

Who is the Street/Commercial Dance Syllabus for?

The Urdang International Syllabus – Street/Commercial Dance is aimed at Children aged 5 to 16+ who wish to develop their skills and ability in Street/Commercial Dance.
