Entries are now open for dancers across the world to take part in the inaugural Urdang International Dance Competition (UIDC). The competition has been developed by Urdang International in order to celebrate the incredible artistry, versatility and talent of dancers throughout the world. It shines a light on a wide range of dance forms and creates an opportunity for dancers to compete on a global stage.

Dancers from age 5 to 21 are invited to enter across a wide range of slow and upbeat dance genres, as a solo or in small teams or large groups.  Entries are welcomed in many dance genres including lyrical/slow jazz, contemporary, ballet, commercial, street dance, hip-hop, tap or a fusion of these.

Taking place over several months, the competition kicks-off with regional heats in locations all over the world including, Malaysia, UAE – Dubai, Germany, Ireland, England, Portugal and Hong Kong. Dancers will compete for the opportunity to come to London and participate in an action-packed international finals week at our London base, just a stone’s throw from London’s West End.

Finals week will be an immersive, exciting, not-to-be-missed climax to the Urdang International Dance Competition. Dancers will not only get a chance to compete and watch all the other finalists perform, they will also take part in masterclasses taught by some of the industry’s leading professionals.  In addition, they will be treated to sight-seeing trips to visit London landmarks and also experience the thrill of London’s West End by watching a musical and going on an exclusive back-stage tour.  If they choose to participants can also opt in to additional singing and/or English lessons.

The final itself will take place at Her Majesty’s Theatre, where participants will relish the opportunity to dance on a West End stage, compete for a chance to win an exciting array of prizes, and enjoy the accolade of being an international finalist.
